When you and your wife are both ready, Couples Support brings you into the work together.

Explore Couples Support →

Men's Pathway is for men who are committed to sobriety and want to learn how to restore the relationship — but need help getting there. This support is non-clinical — we're not treating a diagnosis. We're supporting his faith growth and who God created him to be, which helps her feel safe again, and can help break generational patterns for the whole family.

Her recovery and his recovery are both important — however, what kind of work, and when, looks different. Here's exactly how support breaks down.

1. Men's Coaching

In Men's Pathway, the focus is first on abstinence and sobriety. The first step in a 12-Step program is "We admitted we were powerless over ___ and our lives had become unmanageable." That admission is where real change begins.

Coach Derek works individually with men to help them discover the truth of what they're dealing with, understand the true cost of the choices they've made, and set real goals for restoration. Danielle and Derek work directly together to support the process.

2. Couples Work

When a couple is ready to work together, Danielle leads Couples coaching directly — and continues supporting her individually, alongside her supportive coach. Derek's coaching stays focused on him.

3. Group Work

You don't do this alone. Group work is where accountability becomes real — with other men who understand exactly what you're carrying.

Tough Love Community

Live, ongoing connection and accountability with other men doing the same work — not a video to watch, but a room to show up to.

RITE Course (Restoring Intimacy Through Empathy)

The road back to intimacy is through empathy.

The RITE Course becomes an essential next step. This 13 lesson self-paced course helps you learn how to rebuild safety and connection after betrayal, plus Tough Love Men's Group for live, ongoing accountability.

This comprehensive curriculum was created by Danielle to fill the gap of what was missing for men: not just the how of building trust, but the why it matters — and even the why behind their own struggle. After seeing dozens of men in her practice who were willing to do the work but continued to struggle with the execution of it, this program was built — and it has proven deeply beneficial for those who commit to the process.

If there is problematic sexual behavior/addiction, a minimum of 3–6 months sobriety, etc. is recommended.

The RITE Course exists for men who are done with excuses and ready to walk the road of genuine accountability — and who are willing to do the work to become genuinely trustworthy.

Any man can enroll in the RITE Course — whether or not he is currently enrolled in another Rooted, Refined & Restored program.

Tough Love Men's Group — A Group for Christian Men Committed to Healing their Marriage after Betrayal

Breaking Free from Shame Coming Soon

A natural follow-up to the RITE Course — a standalone workbook for men who recognize the force of shame in their lives and are ready to break free from it, at their own pace.

4. Full Therapeutic Disclosure Work

If the betrayed partner is seeking a Full Therapeutic Disclosure, our coaches are equipped to work with you on completing this process. It is highly recommended as an integral part of recovery — building the foundational trust from which to rebuild, and restoring her agency and her choice in decisions within the relationship. We offer a variety of options to support this work for one or both of you.

5. Consultations & Referrals for Clinical Care

If a need arises beyond 12-Step work, accountability, and coaching support, we help coordinate referrals to qualified professionals. This ensures you get exactly the level of care you need — whether that's within our team or beyond it.

6. From Coaching Alone to Couples Support — When She's Ready

A man can be part of Rooted, Refined & Restored without his wife's participation — she may already be working with someone else, or not be ready, and that's okay. Whenever she is ready, you can move into Couples Support together.

If you're both doing this together, your phases don't even need to match: she could be in Refined working through Shattered Dreams while he's in Rooted or Refined working through RITE. Every part of this can be self-led, on your own timeline.

"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

13 Video Lessons, Self-Paced — Not Tied to a Specific Phase

Every lesson in the RITE Course is recorded by Danielle — faith-rooted, partner-sensitive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. This is the content she would deliver in a 1:1 session with you, now available on-demand.

Pause it. Rewind it. Take notes. Bring your questions to Tough Love and unpack it with the group.

The curriculum covers foundation & sobriety, inventory & empathy, and amends & integration — not surface-level behavior management, but the deeper transformation that actually makes a man safe.

“I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.”
— Romans 7:15, NLT · The Apostle Paul
Danielle, Derek, and their three children
Why We Built This

We Know Both Sides of This Table.

Danielle Lew — Certified Professional Coach · APSATS-CCPS · Master's Degree in Mental Health · Former Addictions Counselor · Gottman Level 1 · Relational Life Therapy (RLT) Level 1 Trained — Certification in Progress · 20+ Years Experience
Derek Lew — ICF Credentialed Coach (in progress) · B.S. Engineering Technology · Restored Spouse with Years of Sobriety from Multiple Addictions

Our coaching support, programs, and all that we do, was not born out of a textbook. It was out of our own story — a marriage that was broken by betrayal and put back together through the kind of hard, slow, honest work that most people give up on.

Yes, we do have professional training of course, but some of our best inspiration of what we recommend was learned through our fiery trials!

Derek co-facilitates as a man who has done this work — and is now completing an ICF credentialed coaching program on top of his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, along with his lived experience battling trauma and dual addictions. He sat in the fire. He understands what it costs to actually become trustworthy, and what it feels like to be met with grace on the other side.

As a recovering Vacillator attachment, Danielle knows what is challenging in relationship with someone who is more reserved, very logical, intentional in his work, and very conflict-avoidant — Derek's Avoidant attachment pattern. And Derek knows what it has been like to live with a recovering Vacillator attachment pattern, needing to learn about her and about himself, and the challenges and needs each pattern brings to communication and connection.

If you're new to attachment styles, no worries — we'll help you learn more about this essential part of your human experience, and how it shows up in your relationships. We provide educational videos, tools, and skills to help you learn to change the dynamic of your relationships.

Danielle brings 20+ years of expertise, APSATS training in partner trauma, and a theology of redemption that doesn't let anyone off easy — but also doesn't leave anyone without hope.

Together we built the program we both needed, but didn't know it — and when we found it, we decided to make it even better!

The Rooted Men Framework

A man's journey back to God and himself after intimate betrayal

For the man who truly wants to become like Christ, but isn't sure how

Real change grows like a tree.

A tree doesn't grow from the top down. It grows from the roots up. The fruit everyone sees is only possible because of what happened underground: in the dark, under pressure, where no one was watching.

This framework is a picture of what real change looks like after you've caused intimate betrayal. Not a quick fix. Not a performance of change. The slow, costly, deeply rooted transformation that makes lasting restoration possible.

You can't skip a root and build a tree.

"He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers."Psalm 1:3

The Deepest Roots — tree with roots diagram
  • ground level
1
The deepest root

AWAKEN

Seeing yourself honestly, before any work can begin

Before you can change anything, you have to see yourself, honestly and fully, without the filters of minimizing, blame-shifting, or self-protection. This is the first and hardest shift.

What lives in this root
  • Denial. The different story you've told yourself and others about what happened and who you really are. The masks you wear ("the good guy," "I don't need anyone") and the feelings you've stuffed down.
  • Shame. Toxic shame that says "I am bad" instead of "I did something bad," and often drives the very behavior it condemns.
  • Guilt. Unprocessed guilt that either paralyzes you or turns into performance instead of real change.
  • Generational wounds. Patterns handed down through your family that you absorbed without ever choosing them.
  • Inner vows. Silent promises you made as a boy or young man to protect yourself: "I'll never be vulnerable." "I'll always be in control."
  • Attachment injuries. Early relationship wounds that shaped how you attach, pull away, and defend yourself when conflict or strong emotion hits.
  • Core beliefs. The deep, often unconscious beliefs about yourself, others, God, and love that drive your behavior from beneath the surface.

Awakening isn't a single moment. It's your eyes opening, sometimes slowly, sometimes all at once, to what has been true all along.

What to expectIt's normal to swing between breakthrough and shutdown here. Your nervous system can treat truth like a threat, so we regulate first and explore second. The goal isn't confession. It's contact with reality.

"For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light."Mark 4:22

2
The second root

SURRENDER

Letting go of every defense, excuse, and self-protection

You can have awareness without surrender. You can know the truth and still hold a corner of it back: a last defense, a subtle reframe, a quiet "but she also…" Surrender is the end of all that.

Surrender isn't weakness. It's the most courageous thing a man in recovery can do: drop every shield, step into the full weight of what he did, and own it without conditions.

What surrender looks like
  • Stopping the minimizing. "It wasn't that bad" becomes "It was exactly that bad."
  • Dropping the justifications. The story of why you did it stops being a defense and becomes information for understanding.
  • Full accountability. Owning not only the actions, but the deception, the gaslighting, and the erosion of her reality.
  • Repentance. Not just remorse (feeling bad), but metanoia: a genuine turning and a changed direction.
  • Surrender to God. Admitting you can't fix this yourself, and that you need a power greater than your own willpower and shame management.
What to expectReal surrender doesn't quietly turn the focus back to your own pain, doesn't manage your image, and doesn't depend on her forgiveness. It doesn't need a witness to be real.

"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death."2 Corinthians 7:10

3
The third root

GRIEVE

Feeling the full weight, without shutting down or escaping

Grief is the root most men skip. It's also the root without which no real change takes hold. There are two sides to it, and both are necessary.

The two sides of grief

Grieving what you caused

  • The harm you caused her: her shattered sense of reality, her lost safety, her stolen years
  • What you broke: the trust, the marriage as you knew it, her image of you
  • The man you weren't: the husband, the father, the man of integrity you failed to be

Grieving what you carry

  • Your own childhood wounds, the pain that was never named or held
  • The years you lived in hiding from yourself, from God, and from the people who loved you
  • The loss of your old self: the defended, controlled, false version you're leaving behind

Men who have never grieved often don't know how. They intellectualize it, perform it, or go numb. This work is learning to feel: staying present with pain without running from it or drowning in it.

What to expectYou can't grieve from a shut-down or frozen state. You can only produce words that sound like grief. That's why we help you settle into your window of tolerance before asking you to feel anything.

"He was despised and rejected, a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief."Isaiah 53:3

4
The trunk

BECOME

Integrity: the new truth woven into who you actually are

The trunk holds everything together. It's where the root work becomes visible, not as a performance, but as a person. The man who comes up from the roots is not the same man who went down.

What becoming looks like
  • Inside matching outside. What you say, what you do, and who you are when no one is watching are the same man.
  • Consistency over time. The strongest evidence of change isn't a breakthrough moment. It's unremarkable faithfulness across ordinary days.
  • Identity rooted in Christ. Not in your role as a husband, in being "a good guy," or in her forgiveness, but in who God says you are.
  • Emotional maturity. The ability to feel, name, and respond to your emotions without being controlled by them or shutting them down.
  • Relational courage. Staying present in hard conversations, repairing quickly, and initiating without being asked.

This is also where the old self keeps trying to take back ground. Stress, conflict, and shame bring old patterns to the surface. Integrity isn't the absence of struggle. It's a man who catches himself, names it, and chooses differently.

What to expectPerforming change means doing the right things to manage outcomes. It's exhausting, and it doesn't last. Becoming changed means doing the right things because you're becoming someone different. That's freedom.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."Romans 12:2

5
New fruit

BEAR FRUIT

What becomes visible when the root work is real

Fruit isn't the goal of the tree. Fruit is the result of a healthy tree. When you've awakened, surrendered, grieved, and are becoming, you don't have to manufacture fruit. It grows.

What the fruit looks like
  • Restored trustworthiness. Not trust demanded or expected, but trust earned slowly, over time, without scorekeeping.
  • Christlike manhood. Servant leadership and sacrificial love: laying down your preferences, defenses, and comfort for the good of your family.
  • Rebuilding intimacy. Emotional, relational, and eventually physical closeness built on a foundation of safety, not performance.
  • A new story. Being able to look back and say honestly, "This is who I was. This is what God did in me. This is who I am becoming."
  • Generational change. The patterns that were handed to you don't get handed to your children.

This is also where men are most tempted to stop. When she's softer, the marriage is rebuilding, and life feels normal again, the urgency to tend the roots fades. This is the moment to go deeper, not to coast.

What to expectThe fruit doesn't belong to you. It belongs to the people who receive it: her safety, your children's stability, your witness in your community. You tend the tree. God produces the harvest.

"By their fruit you will recognize them."Matthew 7:16

This is a map, not a checklist. You'll return to earlier stages. Roots need tending long after the fruit appears. The goal isn't to graduate from the roots. It's to go deeper in them.

What Men Are Saying

They were where you are.

RITE Course

"One of the biggest things that I have learned in this group session is that you really can't have empathy if you don't know yourself. Dani really tried to help us understand aspects of ourselves such as attachment style, areas of shame, and areas we struggle in. I found learning about the attachment styles really helpful, because that is not where we are supposed to be, that is where we need to come from.

The style of teaching has been dynamic to meet the group's needs and went well beyond what was just covered in the book. Additionally, Dani helped us learn how to frame conversations with our wives to show that empathy in real life situations that we were dealing with. Also the comfort circle was really helpful.

I liked the group format, and because it was a small group it allowed us to not only have time to share but to help and encourage one another. I would recommend this group to others."
— R.C., RITE Course Participant

RITE Course

"If you want to understand where your wife is in her recovery journey and what you can do to help her, while also growing in your own recovery, then the R.I.T.E. group is for you.

Danielle provides a ton of information on addiction, attachment, the impact of betrayal trauma, safety, dealing with conflict, empathy, and the road to restoring intimacy. She has a powerful testimony of redemption and demonstrates empathy in every answer.

Through group discussion you get the opportunity to be vulnerable and to cultivate deep relationships with other men that struggle just like you. Highly recommended if you want to learn more about loving your wife sacrificially like Jesus."

FAQ

Your questions answered.

Will I be shamed in this program?
No. This program is built on the belief that shame is not a tool for recovery — it is an obstacle to it. You will be held accountable. You will be asked to face hard truths about what your choices did to your wife and family. But the goal is not to make you feel like a monster — it is to help you become the man your family needs.

Danielle is herself in recovery from substance addiction — for more than 20 years. She gets the battle with addiction firsthand. She also gets what it's like to be impacted by a husband's addiction. She's able to speak from a place of both professional and personal authority on both sides of the fence — in a way that is direct, but never shaming.
Does my wife know I'm here? Will you contact her?
No. Your enrollment in Men's Pathway — whether that's coaching, RITE Course, or Tough Love — is your own. We do not contact your wife, notify her, or share any information about your participation without your consent. What you do here is yours. We hope eventually it becomes something you share with her — but that is your choice, on your timeline.
What does "partner-sensitive" actually mean?
It means the content was built with a clear understanding of what your wife is experiencing — not just what you are experiencing. Partner-sensitive does not mean you get off easy. It means you will learn what betrayal trauma actually does to a partner, why her reactions make sense, and what genuine empathy — not compliance — actually looks like. You cannot become safe for her without understanding her. That is what this teaches.
Who is Derek and why should I trust him?
Derek Lew is Danielle's husband. He is a recovered unfaithful partner who has done this work — not in theory, but in his own marriage, his own family, and his own recovery. He is completing an ICF credentialed coaching program on top of his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, along with his lived experience battling trauma and dual addictions. He is not a perfect man who has it all figured out. He is a man who did the work, stayed the course, and is willing to sit across from you and tell you the truth about what that actually looked like.
What if I miss a Tough Love group session?
Reach out and let us know. Sessions are not recorded (to protect the confidentiality of the men in the room), but your spot in the cohort is yours. Consistent attendance matters for your progress and for the men you're in community with — but life happens, and we'll work with you. More than 3 cancellations in a 12-month period may affect your place in the cohort.
What if I try it and it's not for me after a couple of lessons?
The RITE Course is a one-time purchase and non-refundable after content access begins — that is in the agreement and we are transparent about it. But if you are genuinely struggling with the material or the fit, reach out before you walk away. Danielle wants to know. In some cases we can work with you. What we can tell you is that discomfort in the early lessons is almost always part of the process — not a sign you're in the wrong place.
My wife wants couples work now. Can I do both at the same time?
We understand the urgency — and we also want to be honest with you. Couples work done before individual work is in place often causes more harm than good, because you do not yet have the tools to be safe for her in that room. The RITE Course gives you those tools. Danielle will assess readiness for both during the onboarding process. In some cases, both can run simultaneously — but that decision is made carefully, not by default.
Can I talk to someone before I commit?
Yes. A brief discovery call is available for men considering the RITE Course or Couples Support. It's not a sales call — it's a conversation to make sure this is the right fit for where you are right now.
Does my wife have to be enrolled for me to join?
No — Men's Pathway is your own independent recovery work. Your wife does not need to be enrolled anywhere for you to start, and she may already be working with someone else entirely. In fact, doing your own work first is often what creates the conditions for your wife to trust the process. When she's ready, you can move into Couples Support together.
What makes this different from a generic accountability group?
The Tough Love Men's Recovery Group is faith-integrated, and built by people with lived experience on both sides. Danielle brings a partner trauma lens that most men's programs completely miss — meaning you will understand the real impact of what you've done, not just receive tools to manage behavior.
What if I need more than coaching can offer?
We'll tell you honestly. Coaching and accountability go a long way, but they're not a substitute for clinical care when it's genuinely needed — for things like unmanaged mental health symptoms, active addiction requiring medical support, or other needs beyond our scope. When that's the case, we help coordinate a referral to a qualified professional. Full Therapeutic Disclosure work is also available directly through our coaches, as part of Men's Pathway.
Is this therapy?
No. This is a coaching and self-paced education program. If clinical care is needed, Danielle can provide referrals. This works best alongside individual therapy.
What is the Tough Love Community?
The Tough Love Community is included in your RITE Course enrollment for 6 months — live group drop-ins and ongoing member-driven support. After your included 6 months, you can continue at $150/month, or prepay for 6 months by paying for 5 months upfront ($750) and get the 6th month free. You are not doing this alone, and you don't have to stop when the curriculum ends.
Is this connected to my wife's program?
It can be, whenever you're both ready — but it doesn't have to be. Men's Pathway is designed to run independently, or alongside Support For Her if she's enrolled there too. Your phases don't even need to match — she could be further along in Refined while you're still in Rooted. Whenever you're both ready, you can move into Couples Support together.
Do you offer scholarships or payment assistance?
We understand the cost of these programs can be a real barrier when you're already carrying so much. If finances are a concern, please reach out to [email protected] to request an application — there may be limited assistance available for our on-demand courses.
Do not turn to the right or to the left — Proverbs 4:25-27

You can't outrun this. But you can walk through it.

The RITE Course exists for men who are done pretending and ready to become the man their family needs.
